Jason Rosenblum is a highly accomplished flutist and dedicated music educator based in Nutley, New Jersey. He holds a Master of Arts in Teaching in P through twelve Music and a Bachelor of Music from Montclair State University, where he studied under renowned flutists Susan Palma Nidel of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and Janet Arms of the New York City Opera. Jason currently performs with the New Jersey Wind Symphony under the direction of Dr. Christian Wilhjelm and has also performed with the New Jersey Wind Symphony Flute Ensemble, the Teaneck Community Band, and as solo piccolo with the Brooklyn College Wind Ensemble.
He has extensive ensemble experience from his time at Montclair State University, where he performed with the Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Symphony Orchestra, and Musical Theatre Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Thomas McCauley, Director of Bands. Jason also participated in the Kinhaven Music School’s intensive Windhaven program, performing major works such as Hindemith’s Symphony No. 1 for Band and Maslanka’s Symphony No. 8.
In his current role as a Band Director, Jason teaches flute and other wind instruments to students in grades five through eight. His teaching philosophy emphasizes strong technical foundations alongside expressive musicianship, with the goal of fostering a lifelong love of music and a deep appreciation for the arts. His dedication to music education has been recognized through multiple honors, including the 2023 Outstanding Student Teacher Award from the John J. Cali School of Music and a nomination for the New Jersey Distinguished Clinical Intern Award.
