Mr. Gordon Kuba

Bachelor of Degree for Jazz Drumming,

Montclair State University

Gordon Kuba is a versatile drummer with over 15 years of performing and teaching experience. Influenced heavily by his aunt, who was his music teacher throughout middle school, and his grandfather, the original drummer of Bill Haley and his Comets, Gordon fostered a love and understanding for music at an early age. He started performing with various cover bands before receiving his bachelor's degree at Montclair State University for Jazz Drumming. Gordon has delved deep into the world of jazz, performing with Dave Stryker, Hal Galper, and many others at venues such as DROM, Midnight Blue, and Shanghai Jazz. He also works with various rock and pop artists, currently working on an album with legendary songwriter Sandy Linzer.

Gordon's teaching method is all about connecting with students and their individual needs, focusing on musical knowledge approached from the drum set. He believes it is necessary for any student to learn about the history, structure, and context of the music as well as the instrument's mechanics and technique. Having taught over 100 students in his career, Gordon has a wide range of knowledge and experience to find what works best for the student and how to set them up for an enriching educational experience.
