Andrew Abrahamsen is a multi-genre composer, performer, singer, teacher and pianist from Hackensack, NJ. He holds a BFA in Music Composition from Carnegie Mellon University and has written over 70 works across film, jazz, musical theatre, Latin, pop, and classical styles. He has written alongside UK royal composer Paul Mealor for BBC documentaries, and premiered his original musical “pato, pato, maricón” at Ars Nova’s ANT FEST.
With 24 years of piano experience specializing in jazz, Andrew has performed in Pittsburgh and New York venues including Carnegie Hall, the Rose Theatre at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Playbill and Ars Nova. He currently performs every Sunday at Chez Josephine as a singer and pianist.
Andrew is the Co-Founder of Music Wallcharts, a music education company used in over 30 schools, helping make music theory accessible for both students and teachers with visual and interactive resources for all levels. He currently composes for a variety of projects, teaches select students, and is developing an EP blending folk, pop, and alternative influences.
